During her internship at Pima County Health Department, in Arizona, Mahek Zaveri worked on reviewing and strengthening the county’s Emergency Operations and Preparedness Plan. The role involves attending stakeholder meetings, collaborating with various divisions such as Food Safety, and developing updated plan components and recommendations to support effective emergency response and community preparedness.
In addition to that project work, Zaveri will also be attending the NEHA AEC 2025
conference, where she will represent her internship program and engage with public health professionals from across the country to expand knowledge and network in the field.
