Reminder to update your profile and career interests in Handshake

How do I access Handshake?

Go to pitt.joinhandshake.com  and log in using your Pitt username and password, or search for Handshake on my.pitt.edu.

All current students and alumni who graduated in 2017 or later should already have an account. Please do not create a new account. If you have issues logging in, contact Career Services. Alumni who graduated in 2016 or earlier can contact Career Services to sign up for an account.

Where should I start?

To get started, we recommend updating your profile and career interests. You can access both of these option by logging into Handshake and clicking on your initials at the top right corner of the screen. This will ensure the content and jobs you see are customized base on your interests. If you are a current student, your basic profile information has already been imported from PeopleSoft.

Where can I find Pitt Public Health events and resources?

A Pitt Public Health "career hub" will be established on Handshake by August 1st with events and resources specific to public health graduate students. In the meantime, you will continue to have full access to Handshake, including the job board. By August 1st, Handshake will offer the same functionality as Pitt Bridges. You will be able to make one-on-one appointments with Pitt Public Health Career Services staff, apply for jobs, find relevant career articles and resources, and sign up for events and workshops specific to our school.

How do I make a one-on-one career counseling appointment?

To make an appointment in July, please contact career services directly (Joan Anson, Director of Career Services, anson@pitt.edu; Kim Abraham, Career Services Specialist, kam418@pitt.edu). Fall appointments (Aug-Dec) can be scheduled through Handshake. From the homepage, go to Career Center > Appointments > Schedule a New Appointment.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to Joan Anson, Director of Career Services (anson@pitt.edu), or Kim Abraham, Career Services Specialist (kam418@pitt.edu).
