Contributions to Public Health

  • I have taught epidemiology since 2019. I have a strong interest in the use of technology in improving how we learn about complex topics, such as epidemiology.
  • I was first introduced to injury epidemiology in 2009, where we focused on the impact of distracted driving on driving performance and adverse events. We wanted to know exactly how bad texting while driving can be, especially as the smart phone was emerging and becoming more versatile.

  • My research currently focuses on examining the impact of fatigue and fatigability on fall risk among older adults. With this, we plan to expand on this by exploring potential interventions that may improve fatigue and fatigability.

  • I assist the Director of the Epidemiology Master's Degree Program in internship/practicum placement. I am committed to helping each of our students find an internship site that aligns with their goals, where they can both build the skills needed to become future leaders in epidemiology and make meaningful contributions to their host organizations.
