Samuel Nuñez focuses his research on HIV prevention and care engagement, health equity, and the social, cultural, and structural factors that shape health among Latino men and sexual minority communities.
Drawing from public health, behavioral science, and psychology, Nuñez examines how cultural values, stigma, identity, and healthcare access influence HIV-related outcomes. His research uses qualitative and community-engaged approaches to understand the lived experiences of communities disproportionately affected by HIV and to inform culturally responsive interventions.
His broader research interests include mental health, substance use, implementation science, and culturally grounded intervention development. He is also committed to teaching and mentorship in public health.
