Bio-behavioral HIV prevention. My current research interests include mixed-methods bio-behavioral research investigating episodic PrEP use among MSM. I designed a NIH NIMH funded study to investigate the acceptability, perceived need and uptake of short-term episodic Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV prevention among men who have sex with men (MSM) and am MPI on an Ending the HIV Epidemic supplement to explore PrEP and other services to Black Sexual Minority men and Transgender Women.
Harm reduction and substance use. I am currently partnering with a team on a CDC-funded project to reduce opioid-related overdoses in Pittsburgh and have been working with community members to establish a Community Advisory Board by and for people who use drugs.
Sexual and Gender minority health and wellness. I am interested in exploring resilience and health for Sexual and Gender Minorities across the life course. Most recently my research has involved health aging and reduction of alcohol related harms among young people in an NIH-funded study to test a game-based intervention for Sexual and Gender Minority youth (terminated by NIH).
