Contributions to Public Health

  • Critical Illness Survivorship and Patient-Centered Recovery: Understanding and improving recovery after critical illness is a growing public health priority. My work has focused on characterizing the physical, psychological, and social needs of survivors of critical illness, with particular attention to symptoms, functional impairment, and care transitions after ICU discharge. Using qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, I have elevated patient and caregiver perspectives to inform more patient-centered models of post-ICU care and long-term survivorship.

  • Translating Research into Practice and Education:
Disseminating evidence in health services requires bridging research, clinical practice, and education. Through my scholarship experience, I have contributed to peer-reviewed publications that translate health services and policy-relevant research for clinicians, trainees, and health system leaders. My work supports evidence-based improvements in survivorship care delivery and informs broader conversations about quality, equity, data access, and patient-centered outcomes in public health.
