1970s 

Richard A. Anderson (MHA, HPM '71), president and CEO of St. Luke's University Health Network, was honored with the 2024 Steven Schroeder Award for Outstanding Healthcare CEO. In recognition of Anderson's leadership and accomplishments the St. Luke's board of trustees voted to name its Bethlehem Township hospital the Richard A. Anderson Campus. 


1990s

Stacy Hurt (MHA, HPM/MBA, KGSB '96) is among 25 recipients of the 2025 Patient Engagement Leaders Award by 1nHealth, a company focused on patient recruitment for clinical trials. 

Daniel T. Lackland (DrPH, EPI '90), professor of epidemiology and neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina, is the 2025 recipient of the Population Research Prize given by the American Heart Association. He is a global leader in hypertension research, stroke prevention and efforts to address gaps in cardiovascular disease outcomes. 

Kristen Lazzara (MHA, HPM/MBA, KGSB '95) has started a new position as director of strategic operations at the Center for Inclusion Health at the Allegheny Health Network. 

Ketul J. Patel (MHA, HPM '97; MBA, KGSB '93) has been selected to lead Wellstar Health System in Atlanta as president and chief executive officer. 

Darrell P. Wheeler (PhD, SSW '92; MPH, HPM '90), is president of the State University of New York at New Paltz. He previously served as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. 


2000s

Katherine W. Reeves (PhD, EPI '08) is author of a textbook, "Making Sense of Epidemiologic Research: A Student's Guide." Published by Routledge, the book uses clear language and real-world examples to provide a concise guide to the understanding and critical evaluation of journal articles in epidemiology. 


2010s

Jacqueline (Jackie) Cipa (MPH, HPM '10) was recently promoted to director of the Division of Medicare Secondary Payer Program Operations at the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. 

Chendi Cui (PhD/MPH, EPI '19, '16), principal research scientist at Premier Inc., is a 2025 recipient of he 40 under 40 in Cancer Award given by the Association for Value-Based Cancer Care. The award recognizes contributions media across the field of cancer by rising stars and emerging leaders under the age of 40. Premier Inc. is a technology-driven health care performance improvement company based in Birmingham, Ala. 

Glory Durham (MPH, IDM '14) has begun a new position as a senior director of health care strategy at the University of Pennsylvania in a joint role across Venture Lab and Penn Health-Tech. 

Eric Edwards (MPH, EPI '19) has recently started a new role as Philadelphia are business/district sales manager at pharmaceutical manufacturer Pfizer Inc. 

Jason Flatt (PhD, BCHS '13), associate professor of social and behavioral health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, School of Public Health, was awarded the 2025 PUblic Health Leadership Award from the Nevada Public Health Association in recognition of his exceptional contributions to public health. 

Alyia Gaskins (MPH, HPM '11) was sworn in as mayor of Alexandria, Virginia, in January. She previously served as a member of the Alexandria City Council and is the city's first Black female mayor. She is founder of CitiesRX, a consulting firm specializing in cross-sector partnerships with cities to foster healthy, sustainable environments. 

Subhara Raveendran (PhD, HUGEN '16) is now director, global health economics and outcomes research at Copenhagen, Denmark-based global biopharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma. Raveendran is based in Houston, Texas. 

Megan Suter (MHA, HPM '15) has begun a new position as director, clinical enterprise, urgent care, at OhioHealth, a nonprofit health system based in Columbus. 


2020s

Peter Adams (MHA, HPM/MBA, KGSB '21) is director of strategic operations and chief of staff to the president at Allegheny Health Network. 

Rebecca Ehrenkranz (PhD, EPI '23) is assistant professor of biostatistics in the Institute of Health Systems Science at Northwell Health's Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research in New York. While at Pitt, she investigated the neuroscience of well-being in a cohort study of older adults by combining epidemiology research with neuroimaging data. 

Kristen Y. Eom (PhD, HPM '21) has been appointed associate professor of health policy and health services administration at the University of Texas as San Antonio School of Public Health. 

Jaia Gallegos (A&S/CGS '24), a student in Pitt Public Health's accelerated bachelor's and master's program, is a 2024 recipient of the Bernard. D. Goldstein Student Award in Environmental Health Disparities and Public Health Practice. Gallegos is pursuing an MPH in epidemiology with a certificate in health equity. She focuses her research on social epidemiology, which combines her passion for data justice, sociology and philosophy to advance equitable health outcomes. 

Samantha Hernandez (MPH, EPI '23) is an Applied Epidemiology Fellow with the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists at the Chicago Department of Public Health.
