EndNote Basics

Tuesday 11/14 11:00AM - 1:00PM
A312 Public Health

This class is geared to beginners, but those already using EndNote and their questions are welcome.
EndNote is a software application that stores, organizes, and formats bibliographic references. This class will walk you step-by-step through the program’s main functions: creating and working with references and reference libraries; using EndNote to search a bibliographic database (PubMed), then import the results into EndNote; adding citations to a manuscript; and generating a bibliography.

Got a laptop? Before class, download these:

1. A recent version of EndNote (X7 or X8). Log in to the Pitt Portal (my.pitt.edu), then choose My Resources > Software Downloads. EndNote is free to students and faculty.
2. Files we will be using during the class:

  • EndNote library, diabetesX7.enlx
  • Word document, paperX7.docx
  • ·
Need a laptop? Contact the instructor, Pat Weiss, no later than Tuesday, November 7.

    Registration in advance is required.
