Tips for bringing mindfulness into your classroom

When students are mindful, they are focused on the present, attentive, and aware of what is happening. In order to bring mindfulness (i.e., not meditation), try out these tips.

  • Utilize pauses or slower speech to draw attention to important points. 
  • Have students write something using their non-dominant hand.
  • Encourage students to check in with themselves before small group discussions.
