Street Medicine student organization seeking members and officers


Introducing Pitt Public Health's newest student organization!

Street Medicine is a student organization seeking to raise awareness and provide outreach to homeless, unsheltered patients. Organization missions include preparing graduate students with training to participate in street rounds across Pittsburgh with a team of medical providers, develop an academic component, and provide opportunities for research focus on the rough-sleeper community.

SEEKING OFFICERS AND MEMBERS

Street Medicine is looking for members and public health students to fill the following officer roles to strengthen their growing team. The available roles and responsibilities are as follows:


SMISC Liaison/PR & Social Media
•    Liason to the Street Medicine Institute Student Coalition
•    Regularly checks Street Medicine Institute website for events, articles, or helpful contacts and relays that information to board and club members.
•    Runs social media accounts to build following
•    Corresponds with PittWire, Pitt News to raise awareness of club’s role in community
•    Medical Records/OSN Liaison
•    Collaborates to Operation Safety Net and other local street medicine groups to provide appropriate follow up for our patients
•    Works with advisors and medical director to coordinate care and documentation
Events Manager
•    Works with event coordinator to execute curriculum plan for speaker schedule and journal club
•    Create website for didactic database
•    Records and uploads didactic sessions to website for future reference 
Street Rounds administration (Social work background is a bonus)
•    Coordinates scheduling for inter-professional participation in street teams
•    Compiles resources for patients and provides updates as needed
Business Manager
•    Coordinates with SORC for club registration and member registration
•    Handles finances for guest speakers, events, and purchases such as med packs and keeps inventory of supplies.
