VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Oct. 4-6, 2021
Dr. Emma Barinas-Mitchell and The Department of Epidemiology Ultrasound Research Lab need volunteers for training of new technicians on the lab’s carotid ultrasound machines.
Who’s eligible:
Anyone who is between the ages of 18 to 70.
What’s involved:
- The visit will take approximately 1 hour or less.
- You will be asked to lie quietly for up to one hour while an ultrasound probe that produces sound waves is placed on your neck. This will produce a picture of what your carotid artery looks like on the inside.
- This test is non-invasive which means no needles or anything will go in your body.
- EKG leads will monitor your heart during the testing.
- You may be asked to return to have the test repeated.
- You will receive a $10 VinCent card at the end of the testing.
