Have you been wondering what the great steel and glass Victorian greenhouse is just across the great lawn? Come with Student Affairs and fellow Public Health students to discover the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. A City of Pittsburgh historic landmark, Phipps not only serves as a strong advocate for advanced green-building practices, sustainable gardening and environmental awareness, but also brings fresh perspectives and artists in for magnificent displays.
December is Phipps’ Holiday Magic! Winter Flower Show and Light Garden event. “A dazzling display of color both inside and outside!” according to Pittsburgh City Paper, you certainly don’t want to miss this!
UPDATE: Pitt students do not need to reserve a ticket in advance. Present your Pitt ID when you arrive for free admission. All non-Pitt students, faculty, staff will need to reserve a ticket in advance.
Meet at 2:30 p.m. in front of the main elevators on the first floor of the Public Health building to walk over together.
