Call for Research Abstracts and Project Updates

Submission of research abstracts and project updates for virtual oral and poster presentations are now being accepted. 
From the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital 

Deadline: July 30, 5 p.m. 

Submissions must be emailed to Dr. Kacie Kidd at kkidd@hsc.wvu.edu and formatted as a Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx). 

Research Abstract Guidelines

Abstracts must be less than 500 words in length excluding the title, author's names, and funding source(s) if applicable. Abstract titles should be descriptive (200 characters or less). Submissions should include language regarding IRB approval, if applicable, as well as the following components:

  1. Introduction/Background
  2. Methods
  3. Results
  4. Conclusions.

They encourage research abstracts relating to transgender, non-binary, and other gender diverse communities from trainees of all levels as well as senior-level researchers.

Project Update Guidelines

Project updates should reflect projects that have a potential impact on the lives of transgender, non-binary, and other gender diverse communities in our region. Project updates must be less than 500 words in length excluding the title and author’s names. Project update titles should be descriptive (200 characters or less).

They encourage project updates from community partners and organizations as well as individuals. Projects do not have to have data or be completed in
order to be considered.

Authors must register for the conference in order to present a poster or oral presentation if selected. All research abstracts and project updates selected for oral or poster presentation will be included in the program and shared with conference attendees. All applicants will be sent registration information at a later date. 

The event is a partnership between Community Care Behavioral Health, Hugh Lane Foundation, Persad Center, TransPride Pittsburgh, TransYOUniting, UPMC Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences, UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, and UPMC Western Behavioral Health.
