Sundermann named APIC Fellow

Alexander Sundermann was named a 2021 fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. The status is "a distinction of honor for infection preventionists who are not only advanced practitioners of infection prevention practice, but also leaders within the field." Fellows are selected by their years of experience and contributions to the field of infection prevention. 

Sundermann is a clinical research coordinator at the Microbial Genomic Epidemiology Laboratory and a DrPH student in Epidemiology at Pitt Public Health. He also received his MPH in IDM from Pitt Public Health in 2014. 

In 2020, he was named to the Pittsburgh Business Times' 30 under 30 list and was also inducted into the Delta Omega Honor Society, nominated by his professors and peers as part of the Pitt Public Health Alumni Awards
