Dean's Day 2021 IDM departmental award recipients

This year, the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology awarded two prizes: one master's-level and one PhD award.

This year's winner for the MPH category is Clare McCreavy ('21). She presented a poster on Readability, Suitability, and Content Evaluation of Initial, Online Masking Guidance from U.S. States During the COVID-19 Pandemic. Read abstract...

For the doctoral category, this year's winner is Alex McPherson who presented a poster on Defining the mechanisms of antitumor immunity enhancement in melanoma by the probiotic bacterium Lactobacillus reuteri and presented with Mackenzie Bender, Reinhard Hinterleitner, Marlies Meisel,  Surya Pandey, and Mohit Rana.

Dean's Day is an annual student research competition. Students present their research during multiple poster sessions while faculty members judge presentations for prizes and students evaluate posters for Grand Rounds credit. The Dean invites selected presenters to give oral presentations of their work during the awards ceremony.
