The University of Pittsburgh is committed to supporting you in meeting basic needs, including access to adequate food, safe housing, and other necessities. Basic needs security supports your physical and mental health, academic performance, and professional development.

To build a foundation for change—and especially during these exceptionally challenging days—Pitt’s Campus Basic Needs Committee is gathering data on students’ current levels of basic needs security. This year, we have partnered with the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice at Temple University to implement their nationally recognized Real College Assessment. The data collected via the assessment will allow us to identify gaps, strengthen existing student support services, and identify and create additional community-based connections to ensure you have the resources you need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Help us learn how we can best help you. Please consider sharing your story in the #RealCollege Survey. If you choose to complete the survey, in appreciation, you can win $100.
