Attention Students: Immunization Requirements and Health Insurance

Pitt students must have proof of immunizations against measles, mumps, rubella, and chicken pox, as well as health insurance.

University Policy states that students must submit proof of such immunizations or evidence of immunity to the Student Health Service (SHS). Students may be denied spring registration without proof of immunizations. If you are unable to provide proof of the required immunizations, have not been immunized or are unsure if you have been immunized, you can attend the upcoming immunization clinic. The clinic will be held at Nordenberg Hall-Wellness Center on September 13 (10-12pm). Students must pre-register. The Alleghency County Health Department also offers immunization clinics. For questions regarding the immunization policy, contact the Student Health Service at 412-383-1800.

Pitt students should also have health insurance. Student Health Service is not a substitute, but now accepts health insurance as payment for services. International students must purchase UPMC insurance or provide proof of private insurance coverage. Students without health insurance may not be able to register for classes after fall term.
