Find professional development opportunities for your needs

Professional development opportunities to improve your teaching are offered in house by Educational Programs. These workshops are listed on the professional development Web page, posted on the Pitt Public Health calendar, and advertised throughout the school. Note that the final workshop for this fall 2018 term will the EdTech Extravaganza on October 11, 2:30-4 p.m. in A521. Registration is still open for this hands-on training.

In addition to these training opportunities, the Center for Teaching and Learning offers a wide variety of workshops. A curated selection of their offerings are projected onto the LCD screens throughout the Public Health building. Look for the (UCTL) designation at the end of the workshop title.

UCTL offers a number of initiatives throughout the year for faculty and graduate students, including: the Center for Diversity in the Curriculum @ the Teaching Center, the Graduate Student Teaching Initiative, and the Achievement in Pedagogy Badge. Additionally, workshops are held on standard topics, such as CourseWeb and TopHat, once or twice a term. To access the complete list of trainings available, visit the UCTL's website and click on "Workshops & Events" from the News & Workshops dropdown menu or simply visit teaching.pitt.edu/workshops. The Educational Programs staff have posted a comprehensive list of these workshops throughout the Public Health building, as well.

If you would like a copy of the UCTL workshop list or would like to suggest ideas for professional development workshops, please contact Kimberly Rehak in Educational Programs.
