Thompson receives Predoctoral Fellowship from NHLBI

Jessica Thompson, BCHS PhD candidate, was awarded a NRSA Individual Predoctoral Fellowship (F31) from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. This 3 year award will fund her doctoral training and dissertation research Informing Cardiovascular Disease Prevention among Rural Appalachian Women: A Community-Engaged Mixed Method Study. She plans to use a novel application of spatial analysis and concept mapping to inform context-specific strategies to improve CVD outcomes among rural Appalachian women in Pennsylvania. Dr. Jessica Burke is her sponsor and Dr. Christin Mair is her co-sponsor for this fellowship.
