Congratulations to alumnus CHARLES JOHN SCHLEUPNER (IDM ’68), an infectious disease specialist and doctor at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. He has been appointed to the Dean’s Council on Advancement for the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. The council is a committee of volunteers created to advance the stature of the medical school by providing guidance, assistance, advocacy, and philanthropic investment in support of the school’s strategic objectives.
Previously Schleupner worked as chief of medical services at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Reno and professor and vice chair of the department of medicine at the University of Nevada. He has also co-directed the program in internal medicine at the University of Virginia in Salem since 1992.
