Yuting Zhang Awarded R01 Grant


Yuting Zhang, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy & Management (HPM) has been awarded an AHRQ R01 grant titled, “Racial and Ethnic Differences in Responses to the Medicare Coverage Gap among Patients with Cardiac Diseases.” This is the second large-scale federal award she has received within a year. Judith Lave, PhD, professor in the HPM department, is a co-investigator.

The proposed study could be the first national study to examine whether Medicare’s coverage gap affects Black/Hispanic beneficiaries with cardiac diseases more than non-Hispanic white beneficiaries. Other co-investigators are from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, RAND, Harvard, and Johns Hopkins.
