Personal Statement

I have the experience and training in the analysis of large clinical trial data particularly on Traumatic Brain injury in children a phase 3 randomized controlled trial research and as key personnel for the ongoing international trial on the Approaches and Decision in Acute Pediatric TBI (ADAPT) trial at the Epidemiology Data Center, University of Pittsburgh. I have the expertise in the area of statistical methodologies for clinical trials and am distinctively suited to the proposed study. I have the leadership skill and essential desire to effectively accomplish the work. I was involved in the development of study designs, managed and analyzed data for two federally funded national studies on the determination of effective treatment modalities for non-psychotic major depressive disorders, and mortality rates for HIV patients challenged with respiratory conditions. I have broad background knowledge in statistics, with specific training and expertise in key research areas of major depression disorder, traumatic brain injury and HIV and pulmonary complications. I have work together with several investigators on the study design, contributes to protocol development and analysis of clinical trials in a number of different medical disciplines including major depression disorder, pulmonary infection with HIV, medical condition associated with endotracheal intubation and traumatic brain injury. As a key personnel or co-investigator on several NIH funded grants, I have developed efficient research methodologies for several epidemiological studies of major significance for public health. I have coauthored several peer-reviewed publications from each project.

My clinical trial research focused on statistical and epidemiological investigations of clinical trial data from large multicenter clinical trials. My current research are in development and application of statistical methodologies are on (i) Study on the vaccine effectiveness of Influenza and other respiratory virus infections in outpatients with medically attended acute respiratory infection, US Flu Network study, and (ii) Primary Open angle Gualoma Study.
