June 19 - COVID-19: The effect on Latinos and immigrants

Join Patricia Documet, associate professor and director of the doctoral program in the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences and director of Latinx research and outreach in the Center for Health Equity as she discusses with community leaders the effects of the pandemic on Latinos and immigrants. Panelists include Guillermo Perez, president of the local chapter of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA-Pittsburgh), and Monica Ruiz executive director of Casa San Jose. LCLAA is the leading organization for Latino workers with the mission of educating, empowering, and increasing opportunity for his diverse, dynamic, and growing community.  An independent nonprofit since 2014, Casa San Jose is a community resource center that advocates for and empowers Latinos by promoting integration and self-sufficiency.
