Event changes/cancellations due to COVID-19

The University's Guidance on Events and Gatherings directs that "In order to promote social distancing, any nonessential gathering or event with more than 25 participants scheduled through April 17, 2020, should be canceled, postponed or moved to a virtual event. No new events should be scheduled at this time. Additionally, nonessential meetings or events of any size should be reconsidered."

As many events and gatherings will be impacted over the coming weeks, before attendingplease confirm whether an event has been canceled or moved online. Check  publichealth.pitt.edu/calendar for the latest updates and cancellations.

Grand Rounds CANCELED: Revisiting Freedom House: A call for a modern and inclusive public health EMS initiative

Led by Phil Hallen, co-founder of Freedom House, this in-depth conversation will explore the Freedom House model and analyze the potential of community paramedicine to address health disparities via an inclusive and diverse workforce. Panelists include:

  • Dan Swayze, Vice President for Community Services for the UPMC Health Plan and Director of Operations for UPMC Innovative Homecare Solutions 
  • Paula K. Davis, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences Diversity, Health Sciences
  • Rickquel Tripp, MD, Medical Director Elizabeth-Jefferson Hills (South East Regional EMS) Penn Hills Agencies
  • Sylvia Owusu-Ansah, MD Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine, EMS Medical Director at UPMC
