Event changes/cancellations due to COVID-19

The University's Guidance on Events and Gatherings directs that "In order to promote social distancing, any nonessential gathering or event with more than 25 participants scheduled through April 17, 2020, should be canceled, postponed or moved to a virtual event. No new events should be scheduled at this time. Additionally, nonessential meetings or events of any size should be reconsidered."

As many events and gatherings will be impacted over the coming weeks, before attendingplease confirm whether an event has been canceled or moved online. Check  publichealth.pitt.edu/calendar for the latest updates and cancellations.

Grand Rounds "Close to Home: Street Medicine" with founder James Withers

One Book One Community, the Global Health Student Association, and the Center for Global Health present the powerful 30-minute documentary Close to Home: Street Medicine which shares voices of service providers and oft-forgotten homeless patients in our region. Catch the film and hear directly from:

  • Jim Withers, founder and medical director of Pittsburgh Mercy’s Operation Safety Net® and the Street Medicine Institute.
  • Matt Lewis of eMediaWorks, a producer, videographer, and editor of Close to Home, co-produced by PBS 39 and the Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Donations of warm gloves and hats will be collected for the local homeless population. Light refreshments to follow.
