Byron Chuan (IDM '19) was awarded a 2017 Bob Yee Public Health Scholarship. A native of Atherton, CA, Chuan is pursuing an MS in infectious diseases and microbiology. He holds an undergraduate biology degree from the University of Pittsburgh (2012) and is interested in boxing, judo, and SSBM (the Super Smash Bros. Melee crossover fighting video game).
Named in honor of professor emeritus Robert B. Yee, and funded by generous contributions by alumni and friends of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, this scholarship is awarded to three incoming IDM master's students (MPH or MS) each year based on academic merit.
