In December 2017, Carroline Lobo (HPM '17) joined Cepheid, a bio-molecular diagnostics company located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Carroline reports to the vice president of Cepheid's Government Affairs division, providing expert analytical support to guide reimbursement and market access related decisions. Her day-to-day activities involve planning health economic studies, analyzing large healthcare data to identify disease burden, and assisting with the development of research protocols specifically related to the design of statistical and/or economic analyses. She is also collaborating with academicians from other institutions to expand the research she worked on during her master's and doctoral training. She is an ad-hoc reviewer for multiple journals including: Journal of General Internal Medicine, Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy and American Journal of Managed Care. Through her ongoing collaborations and services, she hopes to continue contributing to the field of health services research.
