Competition Space the University’s internal competition site, provides Pitt faculty and students with an online portal to streamline the process of finding, and applying for, limited submission competitions and other internally coordinated funding opportunities. This easy-to-use, web-based interface provides current, detailed opportunity announcements as well as links to funder and program resources. Applications that are submitted through the site are reviewed by the Vice Provost for Research. In cases where there are more applications received through the site than stipulated by the sponsor, an ad hoc committee is convened to make selection recommendations. Through Competition Space, faculty and student researchers interested in advertised opportunities can: • monitor internal and external deadlines, • review institutional and funder guidelines, • submit internal applications and required competition documents, • receive internal award notifications, • receive application status updates, and • manage project reporting responsibilities
