The following limited submission funding opportunities have been added to the University’s internal competition site, Competition Space, accessible via the MyPitt Resources portal. Opportunity listings include program descriptions and deadlines, required internal application materials, and links to funder guidelines. The most recently added items are: • Brain Research Foundation 2017 Scientific Innovations Award: The BRF Scientific Innovations Award supports innovative discovery science in both basic and clinical neuroscience. This funding mechanism is designed to support creative, cutting edge research in well-established research laboratories, under the direction of established investigators. Each total award is limited to $150,000 (direct costs) for a two year grant period. • NIH Maximizing Access to Research Careers Undergraduate - Student Training in Academic Research (MARC U-STAR) (T34) PAR-16-113: program is designed to provide structured training programs to prepare high-achieving, underrepresented students for doctoral programs in biomedical research fields. Programmatic activities should include authentic research experiences, academic enhancements, skills development, and mentoring. Institutions eligible for MARC U-STAR grants are those with significant enrollments of honors students from groups underrepresented in the biomedical sciences • NSF Innovation Corps- National Innovation Network Sites Program (I-Corps Sites) 16-547 : NSF seeks to develop and nurture a national innovation ecosystem that builds upon research to guide the output of scientific discoveries closer to the development of technologies, products and processes that benefit society.
