A tuition remission scholarship for the spring term is available for a masters or doctoral student who is doing research in any part of Asia. Funds come from the Provost’s Office, and the scholarship is administered through the Asian Studies Center. There are no other eligibility criteria. IDM alumna Helen McGuirke (MPH ’13) was the first Pitt Public Health recipient. The Provost’s Office and Asian Studies Center were impressed by her academic record and research project, and this influenced their decision to make another award to one of our students. Note that the recipient will be required to present her/his work at a meeting organized by the Asian Studies Center and Center for Global Health.
