An official presentation was scheduled during the NAHQ 30th Annual Educational Conference to be held in New Orleans, LA, September 17 - 20, 2005. The conference was cancelled as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Zgibor is receiving this award for the article “Improving the Quality of Diabetes Care in Primary Care Practice,” which appeared in the July/August 2004 issue of JHQ. Co-authors included Harsha Rao, MD; Jacqueline Wesche-Thoboden, BSN RN CDE; Nancie Gallagher, BSN RN CDE; Janis McWilliams, MSN RN CDE; and Mary T. Korytkowski, MD. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Department of Health Diabetes Stakeholders Committee. NAHQ initiated the JHQ New Author Golden Pen Award to provide special recognition for outstanding contributions to the journal from members of the association who have demonstrated excellence in writing and had not previously published an article in the journal. A panel of NAHQ experts reviewed the eligible submissions and provided ratings for final consideration. Press Release Improving the Quality of Diabetes Care in Primary Care Practice
