Grand Rounds Timothy Lash:Significance Testing is the Reason that Scientific Results have Poor Reproducibility

Professor, Department of Epidemiology Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University.

Program Leader, Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Editor-in-Chief of EPIDEMIOLOGY and Co-author of Modern Epidemiology, 3rd edition.

"Significance Testing is the Reason that Scientific Results have Poor Reproducibility"

Dr. Lash’s methodologic interest focuses on quantifying and interpreting sources of non-random error in epidemiologic research. He is the co-author of the text, Applying Quantitative Bias Analysis to Epidemiologic Research. Dr. Lash's research focuses on molecular biomarkers that predict cancer recurrence. He and his colleagues have developed large biobanks of tumor tissues from cancer patients, and connected these to clinical outcomes including cancer recurrence.
