Using Electronic Health Record Data to Study Social and Environmental Determinants of Health

Dr. Hirsch will discuss her use of Geisinger’s electronic health record data to study the role of the social and physical environment on pediatric obesity and type 2 diabetes, including the impact of these community-level factors on response to treatment. She will present her findings to date and discuss on-going work funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study drivers of geographic disparities in type 2 diabetes.
