Donna Almario Doebler, DrPH, MS, MPH, Visiting Assistant Professor in BCHS, has been recently appointed to serve on the Advisory Committee of AcademyHealth’s Public Health Systems Research (PHSR) Interest Group (IG). Public Health Systems Research is the emerging discipline that examines the organization, financing, and delivery of public health services and the impact of these activities on population health. PHSR IG is the organization’s largest and fastest growing IG, made up of more than 2,770 individuals from academia, non-university based research centers, public health practice, and policymaking organizations.

This inter-disciplinary group supports a systems approach to public health. It seeks to advance the emerging science of PHSR by promoting rigorous and relevant research, fostering junior investigators, addressing methods and data needs, and strengthening the dialogue between researchers and research users.
