Alumni Awards

Alumni Awards

The school’s alumni awards are the highest honor given to alumni. in recognition of significant contributions to the field, the school, or both. Each year, outstanding alumni are chosen to be recognized in one of the following categories:

PRACTICE: for significant contribution to public health practice.
RESEARCH: for a significant contribution to research.
TEACHING AND DISSEMINATION: for significant contribution to education and dissemination, either in the classroom or in the field.

THE MARGARET F. GLONINGER SERVICE AWARD for a significant contribution to the school or greater community through volunteer service. This award was established in honor of the late Margaret Fitzgerald Gloninger (MSHyg ’66), Pitt Public Health graduate and former faculty member in maternal and child health.

THE EARLY CAREER EXCELLENCE AWARD for significant achievements early in the alum's career.

Mary Ganguli is professor of psychiatry and neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and professor of epidemiology at Pitt Public Health.
